ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS – NO WAIT LIST

About Jordan Adamson

Jordan Adamson is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. She brings a calm, steady presence into the therapy room and creates a supportive space where clients feel safe, understood, and empowered.

Jordan is passionate about helping young people build confidence, strengthen coping skills, and improve communication within their families. She partners closely with both clients and caregivers, recognizing that meaningful growth often happens when the entire support system feels informed and equipped.

Education & Background

Jordan earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Lawrence University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Counseling, from Marquette University.

She began her work in the mental health field in 2020, supporting children and adolescents at Caravel Autism Health. She later gained additional experience working with adolescents and young adults in residential treatment settings at Rogers Behavioral Health and Discovery Behavioral Health.

During her clinical internship at On Purpose Psyche in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Jordan worked closely with individuals and families to promote resilience, emotional regulation, and long-term growth.

Areas of Focus

Jordan supports clients experiencing:

  • Anxiety and chronic worry
  • OCD and phobias (including exposure-based work)
  • ADHD
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Social and academic challenges
  • Family communication concerns

She has particular experience helping children and teens manage anxiety-driven behaviors, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, and developmental differences. Jordan also works closely with parents to provide practical strategies and guidance outside of sessions.

Therapeutic Approach

Jordan utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and exposure-based interventions for OCD and anxiety.

She believes therapy should move at a pace that feels manageable and respectful for each client. Jordan focuses on building trust first, then layering in skill development, emotional insight, and behavioral tools. Her approach is collaborative, structured, and developmentally appropriate, ensuring that both clients and families feel supported throughout the process.

More About Jordan

Outside of the therapy room, Jordan enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible. In the summer, you’ll find her camping, hiking, or playing sand volleyball. She also loves getting lost in a good book and going out for ice cream.
