Mary Ellen Gillam

Mary Ellen Gillam is a clinical counseling intern completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University. She takes a humanistic, strengths-based, and relationship-centered approach to her work, fostering empathy, connection, and self-understanding in her clients. Before pursuing counseling, Mary Ellen spent over eight years as a public school and special education teacher. Her background in education created her commitment to building trusting, collaborative relationships with young people and helping them cultivate resilience, self-awareness, and confidence. Mary Ellen is passionate about working with children and adolescents and values walking alongside clients as they navigate growth and change. In her free time, she enjoys crafting, visiting local coffee shops, and attending live shows.
